Wang Zhongyao who is a young Chinese pool referee from China became famous after her 13-second video posted on Chinese TikTok. This short video received 1.7 million likes in the following a few days, and also a stunning 460,000 new followers.
Chinese Pool is a form of Pool played on a mini snooker table. Originated in China, over the years the game has rooted in many countries with hundreds of thousands players taking part. The main promoter and the sports governing body ICEA provides 150,000 USD first prize to the winner of the Grand Finals event held in China every January.
Wang found her passion for Chinese pool when she was in high school, and started her referee career in 2011. As many of the matches she refereed was live-streamed on CCTV5, the national sports television, She gained lots of attention from the Chinese pool fans in China .
This short video was taken during the JOY Chinese Pool European Tour, Portugal Open. Wang will also referee the second tournament of JOY Chinese Pool European Tour which will be held in Switzerland this October.
